A long standing center
of the Des Moines metro is Cowles Commons.
Several years ago this space was updated (then Nollen Plaza) to include
a brick walking space, artwork, kid-friendly fountains and lights while keeping
its trademark piece, the Crusoe Umbrella.
Flanked by the Civic Center and Capitol Square, this space is used for a
variety of events such as the German Holiday Market in December to summer
concerts. A gorgeous area to enjoy just being in the heart of the city!
