The beauty of downtown Des Moines

February 7, 2017

One of the things that sets Des Moines apart from other cities is not something big, but the little things. Have you ever noticed all the little statues randomly placed among the streets of downtown?  Pictured here is one of old-fashioned bicycles. Another I have seen is of a dog with his leg hiked up next to a light post which makes me laugh every time I see it.  And there are many more scattered about where you least expect it. Plus, all these little statues are just a preview of what you will see at the John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Garden. In winter or summer, there are sculptures to admire and enjoy right in the heart of our city.
